Ractopamine! What's Next?

"How does a drug marked, "Not for use in humans. Individuals with cardiovascular disease should exercise special caution to avoid exposure. Use protective clothing, impervious gloves, protective eye wear, and a NIOSH-approved dust mask" become "safe" in human food? With no washout period?"  (Dr Mercola, March 6, 2010, Organic Consumers Association, see link below)

Some refreshing and healthy ideas to keep you hydrated during the summer months (and throughout the year too).

Making some infused water is a great idea to add a little flavor to your water without all the chemical additives and sugar in so many waters in the market place.

Start with a pitcher of ice water and add some fruit, vegetables, and spices to your liking.  Let it steep before drinking.

Some recipe ideas:

            Citrus fruit flavor
1 orange sliced
1 lemon sliced
1 lime sliced

            Watermelon
            1 cup watermelon cubed
            2 rosemary sprigs-slightly squished

            Cucumber
            ½ lemon thinly sliced
            ½ cucumber sliced
            1 handful roughly chopped mint
            1 handful roughly chopped basil

            Apple
            2 apples cubed
            1 cinnamon stick

            Peach
            2 ripe peaches sliced
1 vanilla bean sliced down to the center

            Strawberry Lemon
            ½ lemon thinly sliced
            5 strawberries thinly sliced

The following recipes are just suggestions.  Infused waters are simple and delicious.  So be creative and have fun.

Note: I don't know where the original recipes came from.  I would like to give proper credit, so if these are your recipes please let me know.
