Ractopamine! What's Next?
"How does a drug marked, "Not for use in humans. Individuals with cardiovascular disease should exercise special caution to avoid exposure. Use protective clothing, impervious gloves, protective eye wear, and a NIOSH-approved dust mask" become "safe" in human food? With no washout period?" (Dr Mercola, March 6, 2010, Organic Consumers Association, see link below)

Great news just before Thanksgiving! My wife always complained about turkey, this might be part of the problem. Anyway, another good reason to quit eating food you don't produce. Wanna be a farmer?
ReplyDeleteThanks John for your input. Try organic turkey next time, as organic guidelines don't allow ractopamine in organic meats. It would be a good test to see if your wife has the same difficulties with organic turkey as she does with conventionally raised turkeys.
ReplyDeleteThe way our food is altered without our knowledge is good reason to want to be a farmer. I find it awfully tempting. Having grown up in NYC, I'm not sure where to begin. It would be a big learning curve for me. However, I would love the opportunity to learn.
